April has always been a special month for me because it is the month of my birth, wedding anniversary and National child abuse prevention month. Today, I stumbled upon a story and I think everyone should read it. In summary, Tiara Stevens shared her story about how she was sexually abused several times by her father till she got pregnant and had a son for him. Now because her father is her dad, her chid is her son and also her brother.
I've gone to secondary schools to counsel and enlighten students about child abuse but I feel we can all do more to prevent further occurences of this dreadful act. Be your neighbour's keeper and don't turn a blind eye to a potential abuse case, you can make a difference. No one deserves to go through this. Let's create more awareness for child abuse.
